Intabill Owe Poker Sites $30 Million
Australian online payment processor, Intabill, has been releaved to owe online poker sites over $30 million. Online poker rooms such as PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker are on the list of companies owed money.
Australia Courier Mail reported that Intabill’s huge debts are mostly owed to Stars and Full Tilt with $25 million owed to those two respectively. The remaining $5 million is owed to other, smaller, online gambling companies.
Intabill, although not a global “household name” such as Neteller or Moneybookers, are a large payment processor in Australia.
The Courier Mail reported; “Funds were sent to online poker houses often via a processing company or an intermediary – a Salt Lake-based independent company called Impact. Today Intabill owes four of the largest online poker sites in the world about $30 million.” A bludgeoning economic crisis and consumer charge backs were cited as reasons for the debt. It was intermediary Impact who became increasingly anxious about Intabill and, according to the Courier, “pulled the plug on Intabill’s processing operation.”
Pokerstars have, at present, removed Intabill as a payment option on their poker room.
