Pitbull Poker Cheating Scandal Allegations Continue
Controversy continues to surround the Flash Poker Network site Pitbull Poker. Following accusations made on the popular poker forum 2+2, Pitbull Poker are now left facing a series of unanswered questions regarding their business practices.
Dave Brenes, the Pitbull Poker Affiliate & Media Relations Manager, briefly gave the 2+2 thread his attention yet he managed to skip around several questions put to him by 2+2 regulars and Pitbull Poker players. Instead Brenes focused on allegations that he used two 2+2 forum accounts and then stated he won’t be answering any further posts on a public forum.
Dave also stated he was on vacation during a period of high activity on this particular 2+2 thread. We have since gained evidence to the contrary. PNH have been sent a screenshot of Dave talking to a former Pitbull employee on MSN. The screenshot, dated August 14th 2009, shows Brenes stating he wasn’t getting time off and that it wasn’t normal to get vacation at that time of the year.
The screenshot of that chat is below:

Poker News Headlines has since sent Dave Brenes an email to request an interview. We believe the interview will allow Brenes the chance to clear Pitbull’s name and address some of the questions and problems that many Pitbull players have experienced. Our original request was ignored so we emailed Jordan Nixon, the Pitbull Poker Affiliate Director, as we’d previously had email exchanges with that person regarding advertising on our web site. Mr Nixon has ignored our request for an interview with Dave Brenes to date.
Poker News Headlines has, at this stage, removed all Pitbull Poker advertising from our network.
Meanwhile the same former employee of Pitbull Poker who sent us the Dave Brenes MSN chat screenshot has approached Poker News Headlines with fresh information regarding his role in the company. That email read:
“I worked doing contract-based design for Pitbull for about a year and a half from my home in Canada. I got involved with the company through another (reliable one) I had worked with previously. Long story short a few months ago Kevin (owner and my main contact) just stopped talking to me out of the blue and ended up screwing me out of thousands of dollars that owed me and kept saying he would pay.
After that happened I got in contact with another ex-employee who I worked with (living in CR) who Kevin had told me quit. Originally I was looking to her just to see if she could provide me with a phone number I could reach Kevin at. It was then that she informed me that she had not quit, but that Kevin had “fired” her and few programmers, screwed them out of a bunch of money and moved offices/changed numbers. Apparently, this guy owes a lot of people money.
After talking to her further, and following the threads on this (2+2) forum, I asked her about Pitbull’s software. She said that everyone working from CR knew that Pitbull Poker’s CS could see everyone’s hole cards and there was cheating going on. Currently I am trying to get her and the programmers to come forward with this information. “
Poker News Headlines’ offer of an interview with a representative from Pitbull Poker remains open. Many questions from players, regarding security, hand histories and other issues remain unanswered as the online poker community continue to express their concerns about this particular online poker room.
