Pitbull Poker Closes Down – Directors Arrested
Amid rumours and allegations of cheating, fraud, superusers and cashouts which were never delivered it seems that online poker room Pitbull Poker has closed down.
2+2 forum user Chesterboy was the first to suggest there may be problems with Pitbull Poker back in July this year. Following the allegations several players came forward with similar concerns and eventually a former employee of Pitbull Poker came to Poker News Headlines to offer his evidence on the cheating and fraud allegations.
Dave Brenes has commented on Pitbull closing on 2+2 under the username DBReal by saying:
Doyle Brunson in Contention at WSOPE Main Event
Doyle Brunson is up amongst the chip leaders in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) main event. “Texas Dolly” showed all the class and experience he has gained through decades of WSOP experience by cruising through Day 2 to end in 6th place before Day 3 begins at mid-day, UK time, today.
Doyle still has some way to go to catch the current chip leader Ian Munns, though. Munns amassed a huge stack of over 500,000 chips as play ended for the day late last night. His nearest rival, Praz Bansi, is over 200,000 chips behind him at this stage.
__FullFlush1__ Continues Poker War of Words with Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan
Luke Schwarz isn’t a shy man when it comes to talking about his high stakes poker rivals. The man known online as __FullFlush1__ is often seen berating the big names on Full Tilt Poker – picking up chat bans in the process! Now Schwarz has upped the ante by stating he intends to break Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan before 2010 in an interview with Pokerlistings.
“I just can’t stand durrrr. I can’t stand durrrr’s face, durrrr’s voice, and durrrr’s eyes. I can’t stand anything about durrrr.” said Schwarz but when pushed on if he would sit down in a $500,000 live game with Dwan, the 23 year old motormouth backed off.
Bob Stupak Dies
Las Vegas impresario Bob Stupak has died, aged 67, following his battle with leukemia. Stupak featured on several poker TV shows and has several poker honours to his name, but he is more famously known for his influence on the Las Vegas skyline following the launch of “Bob Stupak’s Vegas World” in the early 1970s.
Stupak was also known for his crazy prop bets and, in 1989, he was said to have placed a $1 million bet on the Superbowl and won. In the same year he picked up a WSOP bracelet by winning the Deuce to Seven Lowball tournament.
Man Loses Daughter in Game of Poker
The saying goes “You’re not a real poker player until you’ve gone broke”. While that may or may not be true few broke poker players can lay claim to losing a family member during a game. Yet, in West Bengal, India, that’s exactly what addicted gambler Ismail Sheikh did!
Following a rough session in his usual game, Ismail decided against gambling the shirt from his back and instead put up his 18 year old daughter as collateral. The poker Gods dealt Ismail another bad beat and after raising his daughter all in the Indian addict was minus a family member!

Erik Cajelais wins WSOPE £2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha Event
Five players returned for the final of the £2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha tournament at the WSOPE today. Mats Gavatin, Men “The Master” Nguyen and Richard Gryko headed the chip counts as the play got underway. However, none of those well known names are wearing a shiny new WSOPE bracelet this evening as it was Erik Cajelais that came from behind to take the glory.
Cajelais might not be the most recognisable name in London this month but the man from Quebec isn’t short on high stakes tournament results. Although the result here is his first ever WSOP/WSOPE bracelet, Cajelais has much larger cashes to his name.
Phil Hellmuth to Coach WSOP November Niner
Phil Hellmuth failed to reach the WSOP main event final this year but his influence will certainly be evident as the November Nine take their seats. It was announced today that “the Poker Brat” will be coaching finalist Jeff Shulman in the run up to the start of the event.
Readers may think that Shulman has enough experience to head into the final without any assistance. Indeed, the CardPlayer editor certainly knows his game and is in good shape in fourth place before the final begins. Shulman thinks the help of 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Hellmuth is a logical one to seek.
Heads Up Poker World Record Attempt Underway
Paul “The Marbella Kid” Zimbler has begun his heads up poker world record attempt in London today. Zimbler is aiming to play 200 consecutive matches in 80 hours of play WITHOUT any sleep! He is using the popularity of the WSOPE and the high number of players in attendance there to try to crack the existing record.
SPARKS children’s charity is set to benefit from Zimbler’s efforts and a £50,000 donation is rumoured to be on the table if the record is broken. Poker legend Doyle Brunson was the first player to take on Zimbler, swiftly followed by Richard Ashby and Roberto Romanello.
