Mike Sexton joins The Poker Hall Of Fame

mike_sexton2 One of the good guys of poker is enjoying a great week this week. Mike Sexton is currently sitting pretty on the final table of the World Poker Open V and earlier today it was announced he was to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Sexton became a household name due to his poker commentary on shows such as The World Poker Tour, but the 62 year old pro’ has a string of poker tournament successes to his name too. He has over $2.7 million in tournament winnings, the biggest of which was a $1 million win against Daniel Negreanu at the WSOP Tournament of Champions event in 2006.

Sexton faced tough competition for the Poker Hall of Fame award from 15 other high profile poker players. He was up against Dan Harrington, Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen plus Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, Men Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel.

A 15 strong media committee decided Sexton was the more deserving of the nominees and he will be awarded the accolade at WSOP Main Event final table on 7th November.
