durrrr-challenge Now the WSOP is over for another year the attention of poker fans has switched to the high stakes action over at Full Tilt Poker. In particular the nosebleed games at $500/$1000 No Limit Hold’em which have been featuring Tom “Durrrr” Dwan and, the new kid on the block, Swedish sensation “Isildur1″.

It’s been an eventful week for Dwan. After signing up to Full Tilt as one of their pro’ players he has suffered beating after beating at the hands of Isildur1. Only a few days ago Dwan dropped $1.2 million to his opponent and things didn’t get any better after last night’s action.

Both players were ten tabling at one stage, putting up a dizzying amount of cash in a 12,000 hand session which saw over one hundred exceed the $200k mark. Given the amount of money involved it isn’t surprising to learn of huge swings for the players. It seems it’s Dwan’s turn to run bad right now, though. Last night Durrrr dropped another $600,000 to Isildur1. That comes on the back of his huge $1.2 million loss and a $460k negative to the same player.

Naturally many poker forums are alive with speculation about who Isildur1 is. The guesses and rumours seem set to run for a while as the watching masses only know one thing about the mysterious high stakes action junky – his nationality; Swedish.

If you’re wondering what Isildur might mean then he is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien’s legendarium. He appears in the author’s books The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales.
