If you’re looking for a specific player or group of players at the Monte Carlo leg of the European Poker Tour then we have the full seat draw for today’s play, which has just begun at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
The €10,600 main event has a little over 400 players remaining with the likes of Vicky Coren and Liv Boeree still in the hunt, and €1.7 million to the winner, it should be a fascinating days play.

One of the most recognisable figures in UK poker has been unveiled as the latest professional to join the ranks at PokerStars. Julien Thew, former pro’ at rival poker room William Hill Poker, has moved stables to become a Team PokerStars Pro member.
Thew has a string of impressive results to his name which include European Poker Tour and GUKPT titles. With over $2.5 million in prize money to his name, Thew certainly has the credentials to join the other big names at ‘Stars although he isn’t very well known for his online results to date.

24 year old Justin Bonomo has parted company with his sponsors Bodog Poker after representing the popular online poker room for a little over two years.
Bonomo joined Bodog in 2007 alongside fellow pro’s David Williams and Evelyn Ng to form the Bodog Pro’ Team. At the time the move seemed a controversial one for Bodog following the 2006 multi-accounting scandal that surrounded ‘ZeeJustin’. Bonomo did apologise for his errors but even to this day is often referred to as a former cheater by fellow players and wise-cracking poker forum regulars.
“Bodog and I have officially parted ways after a two-year sponsorship relationship. I want to thank Bodog and its staff for giving me an opportunity to play for them.” Said Bonomo.

iPoker boss, Danny Frishman, has sounded off regarding rakeback in the online poker industry. iPoker sites and skins are not allowed to offer rakeback to their players according to their contracts with iPoker/Playtech. Frishman believes that move is beneficial to his company and poker on the whole and is calling for other networks to follow suit.
Frischman told EGamingReview; “Giving players linear percentages from the rake they are generating creates a price war, reduces the bottom line to a minimum and does not incentivise loyalty. It is killing the industry by taking money from developing better platforms and promotion.

We love poker discussion here at Poker News Headlines but we also know the choice of poker forums can be bewildering at times. We have our own little growing poker forum here at PNH but getting the most out of online poker discussion can mean joining several poker forums at once.
We’ve discovered a great new poker forum at GrinderX. The forum is informal and very friendly. Hop on over today and say hi.
